The Internship Program

The Executive Director, Dr. Ismail Ndifuna, briefing new interns at the Family Concepts Center.

Family Concepts Center offers an internship program. The internship program provides an opportunity for students to gain practical experience and develop essential skills in their field of interest. The program typically lasts for 4-6 weeks, allowing interns to immerse themselves in the work environment and contribute to meaningful projects.

To be eligible for the internship program, candidates must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution and meet any specific requirements outlined in the program description. Interns have access to various company resources such as libraries, research databases, and training materials.

Key Objectives of the Internship Program

  • To create opportunities for students to apply classroom knowledge in the workplace.
  • To expose students to teamwork and professional behaviour
  • To expose students to organizational structure, functions  and culture

Scope of the Internship

  1. The intern will develop and implement a project within his/her area of Academic discipline to support one of the Family Concepts Center’s operational strategies.

Interns will be subjected to a performance evaluation at the end of their tenure.

  • Peer feedback: Interns will have the opportunity to receive feedback from their colleagues to gain different perspectives on their work.
  • Performance reviews: Interns will undergo formal performance evaluations at specific intervals to assess their overall performance.

Internship programs are not substantive positions at Family Concepts Center. Interns, therefore, should have no expectations for a salary or allowances. Notwithstanding, interns may be supported by the organization to undertake designated tasks on a case-to-case basis as determined by the Executive Director.
