The ‘HELP’ project was a five-year project that invested in interventions that holistically address the burden of orphanhood and vulnerability on out-of-school orphans and vulnerable children below 18. The project was funded by USAID through the Uganda Private Health Support Program (PHS). Family Concepts Center (FCC) implemented the project in the Iganga district.
The project sought to mitigate the physical, sexual, emotional, and economic vulnerability to the OVC through health care, financial and emotional support, legal support, and child protection. FCC collaborated with public and civil society institutions. already involved in OVC care and support. The project concept entailed implementing a referral network with clear referral pathways for OVC care and support.
